SpamAssassin

Spamassassin is a very flexible, open source (free!), SPAM filtering technology that is widely considered to be the best and most effective anti-SPAM solution on the market today. Spamassassin runs on dependable, secure, and affordable Linux, FreeBSD, or OpenBSD servers. As an open source product, Spamassassin is able to keep up with the rapidly changing strategies used by spammers in the ongoing SPAM wars. A typical solution involves installing Spamassassin on a small, inexpensive, server that sits between your corporate mail server and the internet. All inbound and outbound mail flows through the Spamassassin server where it is filtered for SPAM, phishing attacks, and viruses.

Anti-SPAM SMTP Proxy (ASSP)

Anti-SPAM SMTP Proxy (ASSP) is a server based solution that is designed to sit between your corporate mail server and the internet. All inbound and outbound email traffic passes through ASSP where it is filtered and checked for viruses.
